What’s Included in Your Physical Assessment for In Person / Online Coaching:
Consultation & Goal Setting
We'll start with a one-on-one conversation to discuss your fitness background, injury history, lifestyle, and goals. This is where we’ll get to know each other more and figure out what drives your fitness journey!
Postural Analysis
I'll assess your posture to identify muscular imbalances, tightness, or alignment issues that could impact movement patterns and to pinpoint what we need to strengthen. This helps guide corrective strategies and ensure your training is both effective and safe getting you to a better baseline.
Mobility & Flexibility Screening
This involves guided movement tests to evaluate your range of motion in your spine, hips and shoulders. Mobility is a cornerstone of my training philosophy, so identifying limitations early is crucial for long-term progress.
Movement Pattern Assessment & Strength & Endurance Testing
I'll observe your form in key movement patterns such as squats, hinges, lunges, presses, and pulling motions. I'll assess your current strengths levels gauging muscular endurance and your 10 rep max. This helps pinpoint technique issues and identify areas that need strengthening or improved coordination. Depending on your experience, this may involve bodyweight exercises, resistance bands, or free weights.
Cardiovascular Assessment (optional, not necessary)
To gauge your endurance, we'll conduct a low-impact cardiovascular test tailored to your fitness level (if needed). For performance athletes, we also offer advanced accurate testing option such as VO2 Max + Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) test at my gym. These comprehensive tests provide deeper insights into your conditioning, recovery capacity, and metabolic efficiency, ensuring we can tailor your training inside and outside sessions with precision.
Customized Recommendations / Set Realistic Time Based Goals
After the assessment, I'll provide you with a detailed breakdown of my findings along with tailored recommendations. This will include mobility drills, stretches, corrective exercises, and movement cues to help you build a solid foundation before diving into more advanced training.
Why This Matters:
My physical assessment isn’t just about checking boxes — it’s about understanding how your body moves and ensuring we create a program that tailored to your specific needs so why know where to focus on improving performance.
Whether you're new to training or looking to simply work on your form / discuss new ways to work on certain muscle groups, this assessment is meant to be educational and most importantly, fun!
